It is a great privilege that I greet all of you, my esteemed Kababayan as we celebrate this year’s feast of our patron saint, Saint Catherine of Alexandria.

Allow me to share with you what is emerging as our vision for our beloved hometown, and I quote:

“We envision our hometown of Gerona as a peaceful and progressive community that is conducive to sustainable development through participative governance and responsible citizenship”.

This vision is captured in the slogan “GO GERONA; Investing in Human Capital, Building Public Value”. Today, our efforts are focused on people development, or simply for the development of their physical, social, cultural, political and moral well being as the primary engine of progress. Therefore, education, health, environment, livelihood and agriculture are the key sectors in which development programs and projects are geared.

This administration is also implementing a reform agenda in public governance anchored on efficiency, effectiveness, equity, empowerment and accountability.

As we look forward to the coming years, with your cooperation and support, we are confident that we can provide an improved quality of life for our people, especially the less privileged among them all. It is also my fervent hope and prayer that with God’s grace, future Geronians will be more educated, healthier, more productive and more morally upright.
