OLOBUAYA, SANTIAGO FLUTTER IN FOLKDANCE CONTESTS

The Oloybuaya and Santiago Elementary School pupils have shown how grace and synchrony were important in folkdance as they flutter away with the 1st place awards in separate folkdance competitions for primary and intermediate levels.

The dance competition was part of the cultural activities for the fiesta celebration sponsored by Gerona.

It was held November 24 at the Gerona Public Auditorium.

Other winners were Apsayan ES and Santiago ES who bagged the 2nd and 3rd place in the primary category while Apsayan ES and Gabaldon ES came out with 2nd and 3rd places in the intermediate category.

The much anticipated cultural activities and folkdance competition for DepEd were participated in by Apsayan, Santiago, Magaspac, Oloybuaya, and Gerona North Central Elementary School. On the other hand, Gabaldon ES, Apsayan ES, Magaspac ES, Sembrano ES, and Gerona North Central Elementary School were the entries in the intermediate level.

More than 50,000 worth of prizes were awarded to the winners and participating dance troupes.

Meanwhile, the drum and lyre exhibition was participated in by Magaspac ES, Gabaldon ES, Gerona North Central ES, Pinasling ES, and Tagumbao ES.
