MAYOR'S OFFICE RELEASES SCHOLARSHIP RESULTS

The office the mayor has released the final list of municipal scholars for the school year 2008-2009 for high school and college levels.

Thirty-one qualified for high school scholarship while 17 qualified for college scholarship.

The scholars were selected based on average grade (30%), indigency (40%), and result of examination (30%).

Scholars are to maintain an average grade of 83 every grading period for the high school while 2.0 shall be maintained by college scholars.

Mayor Dennis Norman T. Go authored the municipal scholarship program when he was then Vice Mayor.

“The scholarship program is Gerona’s contribution to bright but indigent students. We expect that these new set of scholars will do their best in their studies,” Go said.

Beside the new set of scholars the municipality has been supporting 50 scholars distributed among local private schools – 39 scholars for Gerona Junior College (GJC), 10 for Gerona Institute (GI), and 1 for Mother Regina Learning Center.

Scholarship passers for the high school are: Manuel Rosefel (Mabini), Joanna Marle Pulido, Elnnor Ramil, and Marvin Palo (Luna), Vincent Ebron Jr and Desiree Rose Fernandez (Magaspac), Joanalie Bacares (Abagon), Diosdado Facun Jr (Quezon), Jinky Pimentel and Nerisavida Degracia (Apsayan), Clyde Guevarra and Sheila May Heronilla (Buenlag), Portia Mae Dela Rama and Marco Regala (Padapada), Michelle Bangis (Amacalan), Mary Joy Flores (Sembrano), Jinky Balaba (Danzo), Cherry Lyn Paduit and Michelle Fontanilla (Bawa), Nerissa Bulagsak (San Agustin), Jenseen Troy Base (Cadona), Jenny Lyn Mintal and Marjorie Dumol (Bularit), Charlene Daquigan (Ayson), Emerson Millado (Pob. 3), Melody De vera (Rizal), Ruby Ann Fabian (Sulipa), Freddy Ignacio (New Salem), Joyce (Salapungan)

The qualifiers for the college levels are: Tedylyn Joy Pagaling (Danzo), Jayson Pascua (Amacalan), Romel Sapuay (Matayuncab), Arbel John Sapad (Cardona), Jumel Vitao (Dicolor), Estabillo Precious (Abagon), Ronnel Macadangdang (Mabini), Cristine Joy Bondoc (Tagumbao), Antonina Mariano (Pob. 1), Janine Ico (Ayson), Renalf Joseph Pagat (Magaspac), Rolamae Banquisio (San Antonio), Sonny Boy Arciaga (Danzo), and Cherry Marie Sapuay (Villa Paz).
